FuturEnergy Ireland is exploring the potential for a renewable energy project on Slieve Rushen in Co. Cavan

About us
FuturEnergy Ireland is a leading Irish renewable energy developer established in 2021 as a standalone joint venture between Coillte and ESB. The company was formed to maximise the potential of Ireland’s unique wind and land resources and to accelerate our transformation to a low carbon energy economy.
FuturEnergy Ireland is targeting the delivery of 1GW of renewable energy capacity, along with supportive energy storage facilities, by 2030.
Galetech Energy Developments (GED) is also developing a wind energy project on Slieve Rushen in parallel with Brackley Wind Farm.
In recognition of the proximity of our projects and shared goals, we have agreed to work closely together and to support each other in the completion of surveys and studies.

Site study area
The study area for the proposed Brackley Wind Farm is located on Slieve Rushen, approximately 5km northwest of Ballyconnell and 3.5km southeast of Swanlinbar in Co. Cavan.
This site was chosen due to its good average wind speeds, setback distances of at least 700 metres from homes, its network of forestry roads, and accessibility to the National Electricity Grid.
